Peter Kula has extensive and diverse experience specializing in structural design of building structures for over 35 years working for a nationally based consulting structural engineering firm. Peter's years of design office practice tempered with on-site troubleshooting expertise enables him to provide reliable and efficient structural design for new buildings as well as investigate structural failures and provide restoration design services.

Conversion of Heritage Church and Condominium Development (Current), Toronto, ON
De Cartier Development Corp., Toronto

Adaptive re-use of a heritage designated church (original construction circa 1913) into condominium with 14 suites, as well as new construction of free-standing townhouse block consisting of 12 stacked units. Structural challenges included upgrading church structure to present day building codes.

Data Centre – Building Conversion for CenturyLink (2014), Markham, ON
Pacific Design Consultants, Tustin, California

Conversion of an existing warehouse building (approx. 1000,000 sq. ft.) into a state-of-the-art data centre; major structural scope items include mezzanine addition, foundation design for primary mechanical and electrical equipment, free-standing 20 ft. high acoustic wall. This colocation data centre represents a significant expansion of this industry leader's presence in the GTA market.

Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre (2013), Windsor, ON

Konsolidated Structural was engaged as specialty structural sub-consultants to provide analysis and design of long-span portions of the structure housing an Olympic size swimming pool and competitive diving tank, as well as a family water park. Additionally, the lateral load resisting system comprising a system of full-height braced bays was designed in structural steel to resist seismic and wind loads in accordance with the Ontario Building Code.

Five High Rise Condominium Towers at Cityplace (2000 – 2004)

These reinforced concrete high-rise condominiums were designed and constructed in three phases over approximately 4 years with a total of over 1600 suites over four levels of underground parking. These projects include two swimming pools and numerous amenity spaces, as well as ground floor plazas and a structural steel pedestrian bridge inter-connecting the first two phases. Portions of the complex included vibration-isolation design due to the proximity of the CN and GO Transit rail corridor.

Bow Valley Square Office Complex (1978 – 1993), Calgary, AB

Starting as a junior jobsite reviewer during original construction of towers #3 and #4 of this major downtown office complex, this property represents the beginnings of a career. This exposure evolved into a long-term association with owners, designers, tenants and contractors for ongoing renovations and improvements over 15 years. The property consists of 4 towers (25 – 40 floors), a 3 level interconnecting retail podium and 4 below-grade parking levels.
