Flexural Strengthening of the Reinforced Concrete Floor Slabs of the 10th and 11th Floors Using Adhered Carbon Fiber Reinforced Fabric

01. Example of abrasive blasted top of reinforced concrete floor slab exposing flexural cracking due to misplaced top of slab reinforcing steel.

02. Roll of carbon fiber reinforced fabric for epoxy bonding to the top of the concrete floor slab.

03. Carbon fiber reinforced fabric epoxy saturated and ready for adhering to the top of the concrete floor slab.

04. Installing epoxy saturated carbon fiber reinforced fabric to the top of the concrete floor slab.

05. Installing epoxy saturated carbon fiber reinforced fabric to the top of the concrete floor slab.

06. Removing air bubbles during the installation of the epoxy saturated carbon fiber reinforced fabric.

07. Example of 7\/8 in. diameter epoxy bonded carbon fiber reinforced anchors (with flared ends) passing through the wide face of the reinforced column for the purpose of strengthening the negative moment capacity of the concrete floor slab.

08. Completion of installation of carbon fiber reinforced fabric adjacent to the wide face of the reinforced concrete column where the 7\/8 in. diameter epoxy bonded carbon fiber reinforced anchors passed through the column.

09. Example of carbon fiber reinforced fabric adhered to the top of the concrete floor slab for strengthening the negative moments perpendicular to the wide face of the concrete column.

10. Completed installation of carbon fiber reinforced fabric adhered to the top of the floor slab for the development of negative moments parallel with the wide face of the columns.

11. Example of adhered carbon fiber reinforced fabric epoxy bonded to the underside of the concrete floor slab.

12. Installing the carbon fiber epoxy bonded fabric to the underside of the floor slab.
